Who is Monique de Vlieger   Monique de Vlieger-Vermeulen was born in The Netherlands in 1971. She completed the HAVO in Leiden, the Netherlands and after a start as a secretary she was trained in medical terminology and Pharmacoepidemiology. After almost 10 years with Yamanouchi (currently Astellas), most of the time as Pharmacoepidemiology officer, working with pre- and post-marketing data,  and 9 years with PharmaNet (currently PharmaNet/i3) as Senior Safety Associate she decided to broaden her horizon and start as a freelancer, allowing her to work for a greater variety of companies with different drugs and other indication areas.
